Two years ago, in a warm TRC Club night (which at the time was still called TRC Jam Club), in Lamego, Tales and Melodies took their first steps on a path that, even so many miles down the road, is even now still at the start.
If that live tape - which would later be called "A Fresh New Start" - served as an introductory note, and the concerts that followed were the prolific chapters in which the identity of Tales and Melodies were written, then "There's Always Something Related To It" could - and should - be seen as the second part of a story which, in the end, is always greater than all of us.
José Santos has matured and it shows. In this small great EP, the strength of the guitar, the rawness of the beat and the poignance of the vocals gather without taking up the space that the lyrics (or thoughts, even) require to tell a story, alluding either to a very personal universe or to the everyday human experience.
More than a record and more than an exercice, "There's Always Something Related To It" (recorded at Blind & Lost Studios, and produced, mixed and mastered by Guilhermino Martins), is more of a reflection of the unique condition that's common to us all: our human nature.
